AMD has now officially launched its newest member of R7 series graphics cards: the 28nm 'Bonaire' based Radeon R7 260. It will hit retail/e-tailer at around US$110. The new R7 260 features slightly less stream processors and lower GPU clocks than the R7 260X, and as you'd expect its spec neatly fits between this and the R7 250 graphics card. More info inside!

AMD's new R9 and R7 series graphics cards are now available, and ASUS has added its renowned DirectCU II and DIGI+ VRM and Super Alloy hardware into the R9 280X, R9 270X and R7 260X designs. This makes them up to 20% cooler and 3x quieter than reference, with a power design that produces 30% less voltage 'noise' and lasts up to 2.5x longer lifespan. At GPU 14 in Hawaii (we're so jealous!), AMD announced some of the specs of its latest high-end graphics card the R9 290X. It features 4GB of memory on a 512-bit bus with a total memory bandwidth of over 300GB/sec! It also features AMD's new TrueAudio DSP technology and has support for the latest DirectX 11.2. Pre-orders will go up in early October, so get in quick! As you'd expect, you can buy ASUS branded R9 290X when they launch soon. While at first these will follow the designs above, later on expect redesigned versions with improved cooling from an ASUS DirectCU II cooler and long-life, high-power hardware VRM replacements from ASUS Super Alloy technology.
